Palmers Community Fund
In a pioneering move for the UK’s brewing industry, Palmers Brewery has partnered with Crowdfunder Connect to launch an innovative match funding initiative, bringing much needed financial support to community projects across Dorset. By offering match funding to projects, Palmers Brewery has helped grassroots initiatives raise thousands, supporting their ambition to build a strong local community around their brewery.
The success of the campaign has seen over £90,000 has been raised so far, empowering local projects focused on sustainability, wellbeing, and community development. With the support of Palmers Brewery, these projects have not only secured vital funding but also amplified their reach through Crowdfunder’s platform. Projects such as building a new football facility for local children and providing food hampers to those in need over the festive season.
Luke Machin, Palmers Brewery, said: “We have donated money to various local causes for years, considerable amounts of money in some cases, we would find those people through fairly traditional means… But we always knew there was a lot of other stuff that we were missing out on that either people didn't know about us or they weren't aware that they could get the funding or perhaps they thought if they would apply to us we'd say no.”
Crowdfunder Connect has been instrumental in linking purpose driven businesses with impactful projects. Graeme Roy, Head of Crowdfunder Connect, added: “Our collaboration with Palmers Brewery showcases how local businesses can drive real change. By offering match funding, Palmers is not only supporting great ideas but also inspiring others in the brewing industry to do the same.”

Their funding has seen for every £1 Palmers donated over £6 has been donated by the public in support of the projects, showcasing the power of live match funding. As more breweries seek to deepen their community ties, Palmers Brewery is showing the way for local breweries to make a big social impact.
